10 ways to help you on your self discovery journey

Self-discovery is a deeply personal, and ongoing journey. there are several approaches you can take to explore and understand yourself better. Here are some methods to guide you along on your journey. These are in no particular order, except for number one.

  1. Journaling

Journaling absolutely has to be the number one way to help you along in your self discovery journey. If you are someone who has trouble journaling. Start with some prompts. Write out what you’re thinking about just as you’re first waking up, or just before going to sleep.

Some prompts to get you started:

“What life events, or circumstances changed your life”

“What is your biggest fear”

“An activity that is most joyful to you”

“An activity/topic of interest do I lose myself in”

“Who do you admire and why”

“What challenges you have overcome or what was the most challenging time in your life”

“What have been your biggest accomplishments in life”

2. Meditation/Prayer

“Prayer is speaking to God, while meditation is listening to God.” A few different people are credited with this quote.

Prayer can be a way to communicate with whatever/whoever is your higher power, your guides, even the universe “put it out to the universe” Prayer isn’t just used as a form of any specific religious practice. You can reach out in prayer to whatever energy, beings, gods, goddesses, guides etc. you feel can help bring you clarity or assist you on your journey.

Meditation is a way (much like Hypnotherapy) to reflect deep within yourself to gain clarity or even to see what comes up for you. Sitting in silent, still meditation can help you learn about yourself as much as guided meditations.

 3. Personality Assessments

There are several types of personality assessments online. A couple of the more well known ones are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Enneagram test. Love language tests can also be very helpful in learning about yourself.

Please know that as you go through life, having different experiences, growing, and learning and your answers may change. So if you have taken any of these in the past, I encourage you to take it again.

Even as you go through the test, regardless of the outcome, just answering the questions can be very helpful in your self discovery journey.

4. Values.

How are you living your life according to your values?

An exercise that will help you gain clarity on this is to write out your values, then narrow it down to 3-5. Ask yourself how your life shows that these are your most important values in life. Check in with yourself to see if anything you do regularly goes against these values. (this can also be a good journaling exercise)

 5. Creative Expression

Any art form, even singing, dancing, decorating, organizing, writing… the list is just about endless. This can help you understand what truly fulfills you, what you get lost in the flow of doing, and in turn help you to understand yourself better.

6. Shadow Work

Carl Jung’s concept of the shadow is very basically, recognizing parts of yourself that you’ve repressed or denied. This takes being open and candid with yourself.

   – Reflect on your triggers, fears, or perceived negative traits to better understand how they impact your life.(another great journaling exercise)

Another great exercise to help with your shadow self is to think of a person you really don’t like at all. What are the main issues with this person?

Narrow it down to 3 or 5 traits that you really dislike about this person. Then ask yourself which of these might also be a trait of mine, or which of these am I feeling shame or triggered by the most – then explore that.

7. Therapy or Counseling

There are many forms and types of therapy. Nothing is right for everyone. I do believe everyone can benefit from some sort of therapy or counseling. Even if you just go in because you’re feeling disconnected from yourself, or feeling lost lately. Unsure of who you really are at the core level. You may have some trauma that still needs to be worked through. No matter the actual reason you go for therapy or counseling, it will be helpful in your self discovery journey.

8. New Experiences

Get out of your comfort Zone. Within reason – you want to make sure you’re safe. Some comfort zones are personal protection. So be mindful of staying safe.

I’m talking about trying something new, something of interest that you never tried. Attend a class or sign up for a course, a group activity you found on Meet-Up or social media.

Try a holistic modality or method that sounds interesting to you. (please see “Holistic Connections” playlist on my youtube channel)

9. Reading & Learning

Plenty of self-help books out there. Also you can learn about yourself by learning about psychology, philosophy, and spirituality.

You can also learn a lot about yourself by reading others biographies or memoirs Reading about others’ lives can help you to reflect on your own journey, and give you a new perspective.

10. Spiritual Exploration

Explore spiritual and/or religious practices: Whether through religion, philosophy, or alternative spiritual paths. It’s always good to learn about different beliefs and rituals. You can learn a lot about yourself by reflecting on what feels right or true within yourself as your learning.

Also some more journal prompts.  “Who am I?” and “What is my purpose?”  “do I believe in God, why or why not.” “Where do these beliefs come from?”

I have a video on my YouTube channel titled “How to find what’s right and true for you on your spiritual path” Many other videos on my YouTube that may help in your self discovery journey, including one with this same list. Please check out the play list tab for all the self help and self care videos there. Plenty of guided visualizations and meditations are there as well.

I hope this has helped get you started on your self discovery journey. Always feel free to reach out. You may use the contact form on the home page or email me at Pamela@HypnoBreakthrough.com

Five Visualizations for Letting Go.

By Pamela Topjian, CHt

There are many ways to let go of blocks and obstacles. Here are five  visualizations you can use to help you let go and move on.

You may do them all, or pick one that feels right for you. I suggest you read through them first then make that decision.

Some people have trouble visualizing, however if I say the word apple, you know what that is, and you don’t have to actually see one in your minds eye to know what I’m talking about. The same is true for something none of us have seen, like the wind, or even a unicorn.

So keep an open mind, and most importantly is that you are ready to let go, and move on. Just put your hand on your heart and give yourself permission to let go. Let your subconscious know that you are now ready to move on from the blocks and obstacles that have been holding you back.

1. Untying knots: visualize knots in a rope, or even a string. Just laying there in arms reach. Imagine or just pretend that each knot represents an obstacle or block to letting go of whatever may be holding you back. Then imagine yourself untying the knots, one by one.

If any of them are harder to untie than others, you can imagine that you have a toolbox to use  whatever tool is needed to help you untie those knots. Once they are all untied, you can feel any tightness or tension release from your body as well. Sometimes emotional blocks lead to physical symptoms, untying knots is a good way to release both.

2. Dial: Just like a volume dial on the radio or stereo system, you can imagine the higher the dial is set, representing the amount of blocks, or obstacles, or the strength of the block. In your mind’s eye, imagine just reaching out and slowly turning down the volume, or the dial. As you do you’re lessening the strength of the block. You can even turn it off if you feel like you need to. As soon as the volume is dialed down, you know you have control and can keep it as quiet as is comfortable for you.

3. Bubbles: Visualize blowing bubbles like you may have done as a child, or even bubbles from a bubble bath, and imagine that the bubbles hold within them the obstacles to letting go. Then, as you pop the bubbles you also pop the block and it just disappears, or dissolves, as the bubble does when popped. You may find yourself popping lots of bubbles, one after the other. Or you may find a huge release after popping just one.

4. Clouds: Visualize in your mind’s eye, that you’re looking up at clouds moving across the sky, and once you get this visual, just imagine sending whatever blocks or obstacles you may have up to the clouds to be carried away. Just as the clouds dissipate, imagine the blocks and obstacles being carried away, losing strength and also dissipating. Once you notice them disappearing, a peaceful feeling comes over you, and a feeling of being lighter. The sky is clear, it’s a new day and now you can move on with your life, free from those blocks and obstacles.

5. Write in the sand: Imagine being on a beach, the waves come in and go back out again. You walk closer to the water and notice a stick in the sand, you can pick up the stick and begin to write in the sand… you write out anything that reminds you of who or what may be holding you back from moving on in your life. It could be a name, a symbol, a representation of a situation, or time in your life. Anything or anyone that has been blocking you or been an obstacle in your way.  Visualize yourself writing or drawing in the sand, then ask the ocean to take it away. Just as you do this, the waves come in and wash away your writing or drawing and as soon as it does, you feel a sense of peace and relief.

If you would like a guided meditation that you can listen to for any of these, let me know. I have a YouTube channel with guided visualizations. Just let me know, I will create and record one. Youtube.com/@PamelaTopjian

Even though these are all in your mind’s eye, please know that inner changes really do create outer changes. You may notice changes right away, or you may need to use these images/visualizations in meditation, or do them a few times over, before you see any changes .

As mentioned at the top, the most important thing is that you are ready. You have to be willing to give up that which holds you back, even if you don’t know what is holding you back. You have to be willing to let go and move on. Excited for what’s on the other side of letting go.  As silly as that sounds, sometimes people get attached to the block or obstacles, they can even be safety nets – keeping us from our own success. I know we have all heard that people often fear success more than failure.

Please share which you used, and how the experience was for you.

Hypnotherapy For Self Discovery, Gaining Confidence, and Self-Love

Hypnotherapy for Self Discovery, Gaining Confidence, and Self-Love: From Your Own Inner Guidance

Self-discovery is a profound process that allows us to realize our true potential, embrace our authentic selves, and navigate our path with clarity. One powerful technique in this journey is hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy utilizes the power of hypnosis in a therapeutic model.  Whereby  you can connect within your subconscious mind to bring about positive change and deep personal insights. Hypnotherapy can significantly enhance your self confidence, self-love and bring clarity to your life.

Building Confidence

Confidence is very helpful to living a fulfilling life. It empowers you to get out of your comfort zone, to pursue your dreams, and handle challenges with resilience.

Hypnotherapy helps build confidence by transforming limiting beliefs and reducing (or even eliminating) negative self-talk. During a hypnotherapy session, I guide you into a state of deep physical relaxation, quieting the conscious mind so your subconscious mind can have a deeper focus and awareness. I offer positive suggestions and affirmations that can be more effectively processed in this deeper state.. This process helps rewire the brain, replacing self-doubt with self-assurance, and instilling a positive self image.

Cultivating Self-Love

Self-love is essential for emotional well-being and includes self care and self acceptance. Accepting and appreciating yourself as you are, with all your strengths and perceived  imperfections. Hypnotherapy can be a powerful technique for cultivating self-love by helping to process through past wounds and trauma that may be an obstacle to having love for yourself. Through guided visualization, and/or positive reminders of your unique and true self and a beautiful being, hypnotherapy helps release negative emotions and fosters a sense of compassion and kindness towards oneself.

This transformative process enables you to see yourself through a lens of unconditional love and acceptance, paving the way for healthier relationships, not only with yourself but others as well.

Inner Guidance

Inner guidance is the intuitive wisdom that resides within each of us. It helps us make decisions aligned with our true authentic selves, and navigate life with a sense of purpose and direction. Hypnotherapy helps you to connect with your own inner guidance by quieting the conscious mind and allowing access to the deeper, intuitive layers of the subconscious mind. In this relaxed state, you can connect with your inner wisdom, for personal growth, gaining clarity on your most authentic self and life purpose. Hypnotherapy sessions, and regular meditation can strengthen this connection, helping you trust your intuition and make decisions aligned with your authentic self, leading to a more fulfilling life.

In conclusion

Hypnotherapy is a profound way to connect with your inner guidance for self-discovery, self -confidence, and self-love which can lead to a more fulfilling life.

By connecting with the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy helps transform limiting beliefs, address and overcome emotional wounds, and connect to your own inner wisdom.

Whether you’re seeking to build confidence, cultivate a deeper sense of self-love, or enhance your intuitive guidance, or all of the above,  hypnotherapy can be an invaluable resource on your journey to self-discovery.

Embrace the power you already have within you, through the use of meditation, journaling, affirmations and hypnotherapy. Allowing you to take a  transformative journey towards a more confident, loving, and intuitively guided you. The key to unlocking your true potential lies within your subconscious mind—hypnotherapy can help!

New Certification: Hypnotic Coach

What does it mean to be a hypnotic coach, and more importantly, what does that mean for my clients?

A basic answer is that a hypnotic coach combines hypnotherapy or hypnosis techniques along with coaching. Over the last year and a half I have been working through a course towards an *Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner diploma. (IHAP) That’s a mouthful, but let’s break that down.

Integrative: to unify separate things.

Healing: the process of making or becoming sound, or healthy again.

Arts: the expression or application of human creative skill.

(Healing Arts: Creative practices that promote healing, wellness and personal change)

Practitioner: a person actively engaged in an art, discipline, or profession.

I will delve deeper into all of this later in January (2024) when I graduate from the program.

The *IHAP course includes Spiritual coaching, Life coaching and transformational coaching, among other holistic healing arts modalities. The course concludes at the end of January ‘24, and, as mentioned above, at that time I will be giving another more in-depth update.

(if you would like to keep updated with all the happenings with HypnoBreatkthough, please sign up for my monthly email – just send a msg. On the front page or at PamelaTopjian@HypnoBreakthrough.com

As for the “Master Hypnotic Coach” certification that I have just received. I have been a certified hypnotherapist with the  (ACHE) **American Council of Hypnotists Examiners since ‘20, ACHE certified Hypnotherapists renew our certifications every two years, which includes continuing education. This was the same for my nursing license.

Working on the Integrative healing Arts Practitioner course has included more than enough continuing education to add the Certification to “Master Hypnotic Coach” to my ACHE hypnotherapy certifications.

I’m proud of this achievement. I have been working hard at this for a year and a half.

Hypnotherapy has been a part of my life since 2010. Many of you know my story. I have written my memoir (found on Amazon) which includes my journey to hypnotherapy. At the time of this writing, I’m just about to publish my second book on my nursing career, and why I left. Which at the end, also  includes hypnotherapy.

I always knew I wanted to add more to my hypnotherapy education and training. To have more ways to assist my clients on their healing journey. To gently guide people towards a fulfilling life in whatever way that will be most effective for them personally.

Hypnotherapy is such a powerful modality on its own, and is my absolute first love in the holistic healing arts. I know that it has the potential to be even more powerful, and the results are oftentimes longer lasting ,or even more rapid, when combined with other complementary and alternative healing arts modalities.

Results are very individual, and what fits well for one, may not be a good fit for another. This is another reason I wanted to add more training, and education to serve my clients more holistically.

Middle Aged Women are Asking Themselves, ‘Now What?’

Middle aged women are asking themselves, Now What? Are you a middle aged woman, considering Hypnotherapy but unsure what you can expect? I will break it down for you here, however always feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have.

A time of Transition and Uncertainty

During this second, or third phase of life you may be going through a time of transition. This may leave you feeling lost, or confused. Your life is changing a lot right now, and you find yourself asking yourself “Who am I becoming?” or “What is my purpose in life now?”

This uncertainty can sometimes lead to unhealthy life habits, such as over eating or drinking. Staying up later and not getting good sleep or exercise. This can leave you with a lack of motivation, or inspiration. Sometimes this can even lead to deeper issues with depression or anxiety.

Finding yourself feeling sick, and tired. Sick and tired of living this way, or with a lack of purpose or quality of life. Wondering at this point, if you need a doctor, or therapist, maybe just a vacation or a good dinner party.

Negativity: You may see posts on social media of some of your friends, getting negative and complaining about the same issues. You may even find yourself doing this more often than you would like. Venting can be helpful, however it can become a habit that doesn’t actually produce any real change.

You may hear or see someone mention hypnotherapy. Maybe in a blog post or article, such as this and wonder what it’s all about. It’s time to take some action and reach out… but now what, is it safe, what can you expect from hypnotherapy?

Consultation: This is what the consultation is for, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions, and to learn about hypnotherapy. Allowing you to get a feel for if its going to be a good fit for you, and if we’re a good fit to work with each other.

You may be concerned that don’t know if you can meditate or “Be hypnotized’ so you might be unsure if this is going to help you. In my consultations, I offer a free sample session for simple relaxation or stress reduction, so you can see for yourself how it feels, before you make any commitments. You can then be more relaxed and ready for your first full session, if you decide this is the route you would like to take. Rather than being concerned about what to expect during the first one. Your first full session will be much like your sample session only longer. I may add in some wording that will be beneficial to you from our talk about your concerns, or what changes you would like to see in your life.

Future focus: I focus much more on the future than the past. Many traditional therapists you may find yourself talking endlessly about the past. While some people need that, for several reasons, with hypnotherapy we can add in some regression techniques if I think that’s a direction that will be of benefit for you, but also progression techniques within our sessions to focus on where you want to be. We go beyond the surface level of diminishing unhealthy habits.

When we see how you respond to each session, and in between, that will help guide me to tailor your next session to your specific needs, and what technique is working best for you.

How many sessions will you need? On average most see some significant changes within 3 sessions. With 3-6 sessions total being the usual. However, we never know how receptive you will be. Some issues stem from childhood and are deeply rooted. You will know after a few sessions if you will benefit from a more extensive amount of sessions. While others are where they want to be in life after just 2-3 sessions. This may also depend on if you are also getting other types of therapy or treatments during the same time we’re working together.

What happens in a session? For the actual session, you are asked to go to a in a nice comfortable space, make sure that you can hear me without having to hold the phone, and to be sure you won’t be disturbed. You may play some soft music without lyrics in the background if you like.

You are assured that you will always be in complete control, and may stop the session if need be, for any reason whatsoever. At the very least, during your sample session you will feel relaxed. Many report they have never felt so relaxed or calm. Some people report seeing visions, as in a dream state, some people get a sense of overall balance and wellbeing. Some feel physical sensations such as tingling, melting, or even floating.

After just a few full sessions, you will begin to notice solutions and answers coming to you from within your own inner guidance during the sessions, or more likely in between. I highly encourage journaling, this will help you to notice all the life changes, even the small, but impactful ones. You may notice that you are able to listen to your own inner guidance. Maybe you start a meditation practice,  or a new interest or hobby. You may find yourself stepping out of your comfort zone, and being excited about it. A calm curiosity, rather than anxiety.

You’re finding yourself enjoying life, responding to stress in a healthier way, and noticing an improved sense of overall wellbeing.

In conclusion; Hypnotherapy is a safe, holistic, mindful and gentle modality that can assist in overall wellbeing, no matter where you are in your life. Simple issues, to deeper ones, and even life changing transformations. Reach out, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

FREE Consultation: Contact me to schedule your free consultation, which includes that complimentary sample session as well. you may leave a comment here, or fill out the contact from on the home page, or email me directly at Pamela@HypnoBreakthrough.com

All sessions are by phone or zoom, in complete confidentiality, safety, and comfort of your own home.

Authenticity and Transparency in Growth

Hey friends, HypnoBreakthrough is growing!

In the interest of authenticity, transparency, vulnerability and continued growth, I’m excited to share with you all how my practice is growing. I’m also hoping that by writing this out I will gain some clarity. I am open to any guidance, and your wise words of wisdom. (leave a comment or feel free to contact me privately with the contact form on the home page or email me at Pamela@HypnoBreakthrough.com)

Starting from the beginning in 2010 I was searching for a more holistic way to assist people on their healing journey than nursing. At that time, I had been a licensed nurse for a whopping 3 years. Already disenchanted and even disgruntled, for many reasons.

I decided to look into ways to assist people in a more natural healing path than the medical route. So, took a course that included a sort of intro into a few different holistic modalities. Hypnotherapy was included in that. I then put all my focus there, and went through level one and two of Hypnotherapy courses.

However, I wasn’t in the best position in life to be able to quit nursing all together. I practiced some with friends, and friends of friends. I brought hypnotherapy into my nursing when I could.

In 2020 I decided to go for my dreams once again, knowing I had to get out of nursing. I had some major pushes, and pulls from the universe that it was the right time. I attended classes again, and attained my board certification.

Then started my own Hypnotherapy practice.

As we go through anything new, we grow as we go. I quickly realized I wanted to offer more, along with hypnotherapy for my clients, and decided to take an “Integrative, Healing Arts Practitioner” diploma course. There were options on which to focus my learning, one was more spiritual guide/coach and I went in that direction.

A few of the classes with in this course:

Angels and Guides

Intuitive Guidance

Spiritual traditions

Mysticism and universal laws

Prayer therapy and mindful meditation

Creating ceremony and sacred space

Ministerial duties and homiletics

Death Dying and hospice

Developing your spiritual gifts

Spirit directed coaching

Transpersonal Psychology

Among others focused on business, coaching and other holistic modalities.

I have been learning so much, and doing very well (so-far) loving it all. I know this was the right decision. I am in my mid/late 50’s as some of you know. I am unsure at this moment where all of this fits in within HypnoBreakthrough. I know some self hypnosis, prayer and meditation (and time) will bring clarity.

As of right now (Jan. ‘23) I still have a year left in the course. However we are encouraged to practice or offer what we have learned to clients.

Also, at this time, something else happened that feels like a gift, or a meaningful “sign”. I found out that I have been ordained since 2011 as a non-denominational minister by the Universal Life Church. I barely remember, however I do have a couple ideas as to why I went through that process at that time.

In my course I thoroughly enjoyed creating ceremonies for renewal of vows, baby blessing, and an end of life ceremony (non denominational, not tied to any particular religion)

I thoroughly believe in the power of Hypnotherapy. I love how transformative it can be for so many. (check the testimonials page) My bigger than life “Dream Big” dream, is a healing center with other practitioners, and healing gardens on the property, with a labyrinth, water feature, and gazebo as well. As of right now I’m completely virtual, which definitely has it’s advantages for myself as well as my clients. The Holistic Healing center would have some virtual, with most on site.

“The possibility of the dream gives strength.” -Lailah Gifty Akita

“My goal is to show young women and girls that our voices and ideas matter, and you are never too young to dream big!” -Marsai Martin (never to young, or too old)

I’m very excited for what the future holds, and I’m so honored to have you on this journey with me. I do fully trust the universe that what is meant to be will. I also know that every single thing started as an idea. Think about Disney, Rythmia life advancement center, SouthWest Institute of Healing Arts, Lego…. The list goes on. It’s true that ideas, thoughts and words have power. I have imagined this clearly, I have details – I know its out there for me and will show up at the perfect timing. However I do know that clarity on HypnoBreakthrough and the ways in which I serve within this practice needs clarity and I also know that it will come.

Thank you for reading.

Please take care, inside and out.

Blessings to you all,

Pamela Topjian

How Are Those Resolutions Doing?

Forget new years resolutions, even goals…. Yes, that’s right.

Think instead about what quality of life means to you. What is a fulfilling life in your mind? What do you not want to go to your grave without having done, or experienced?

Think about that – contemplate, meditate or journal about it.

For your journal prompt, you can start with asking yourself ; What are my top 5 (or 3)  priorities in life? Are simple pleasures a part of your list? What’s the top highest priority?

Then pay attention over the next month, how much time you spend each week within those priorities. You can even make a chart if you like doing that sort of thing.

Are you living your life to the fullest? Are you fulfilled? Do you know the feeling of living well? What would your life be if you did?

What are you waiting for?

Consider the words of ― Eckhart Tolle; The Power Of Now

“It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole life waiting to start living.”

It is said that we only live once, when in reality we only die once.

Sadly, far too many of us don’t live while we’re alive. Some people spend their whole lives waiting for this… or that. Waiting until they have enough money, or time, or until they have something they think they need, before they can take action on whatever it is they would like to do in their lives. Or something they want to start doing for more peace or balance, or always had an interest in. For some of you, this may be starting a new lifestyle practice, or even spiritual practice.

Such as, “I’ll start a meditation practice when I can get a good quality meditation cushion and a few books on meditation”

or

“I’ll start eating better once I have more money, or the time to find fresh organic produce, or get a good quality ….. Whatever kitchen gadget you think you need to eat healthier. “

We all do this on some level. Big or small.

Much like waiting for the fruit to be just right on the tree, and it ends up spoiling on the ground, having never been eaten. Having never tasted that sweet fruit because they were waiting for the perfect time.

Can you think of a time you have put something off, only to wish you had started sooner? When have you put off starting something that you were passionate about, waiting until the timing was just right, only to find the right timing had passed without you realizing it.

Some people put off parenthood until everything is perfect to bring a child into their lives, while this is a good decision to take seriously, you may end up having a difficult time conceiving as we age as well.

“Go For It” as the athletic ads state. Because, the time will pass anyway – you CAN begin even without being in the perfect position, or having all you think you need; be it a physical item or education… start that passion, that practice, that endeavor. Do not let the time pass without at least trying to live your life to the fullest.

Give yourself grace, you’re not expected to know everything, or be perfect when you start something new. Also know that you are not alone, you can call in your spiritual team, your own spirit guides and/or the god (or goddess) that feels right and true to you, to assist you on this journey.

If you do make some mistakes, (and you will) know that its in the mistakes where valuable lessons are learned. Lessons you cannot learn from a class or course.

Practice may not make perfect, but it does bring progress. While it’s true that sometimes we really do need something to change in our lives to get to that point we want to be. You can start just changing your mindset, meditating on it, praying about it – journaling about it. Rather than thinking that you can’t until something changes… How about saying to yourself, ‘I  will do what I can now, with what I have where I’m at.’

Once that ball gets rolling, momentum usually picks up and you WILL be living your life to the fullest sooner than if you waited.

So I ask you…

What do you want to do with your life? I mean, what are you really passionate about? What in life are you putting off? What are YOU waiting for?

The time is NOW, you CAN live your life to the fullest! Even if you can’t fully start right now, you CAN start the ball rolling towards your dreams, your passions in life, and THAT will help you to feel that you ARE living your life to the fullest, moving in the direction of your passions rather than putting them off. This fosters self-love, and self confidence.

It doesn’t even have to be anything big, maybe you’re passionate about living a calm, simple life. If life has always been loud, chaotic or out of control, living your life to the fullest may mean a routine, predicable, simple life. What can you do today to start? Practice meditation? Make a commitment to yourself to take a walk alone (or with a loved one) once a week. Make a list of priorities and what you’re doing or could be doing. Book a few Hypnotherapy sessions? there’s always something you could do, right now.

What will you do, wait, hope and wish . forget about it or put it in the back of your mind….or start that ball rolling?

Live your life NOW because the time will pass anyway, and as time passes, so does your life.

“I Don’t Know Who I Am Anymore Since…”

“I don’t know who I am anymore”

Have you found yourself feeling this same way? This is such a common sentiment of middle aged or older women. Men as well, however I hear this more so from women. So many possible reasons or circumstances that cause people to feel this way;

I don’t know who I am anymore since ……

the kids went to college,

moved out on their own, married or even,

since ‘they don’t need me anymore.’

I don’t know who I am anymore since….

I retired,

my injury/illness (mental or physical)

my divorce or

my spouse passed away.

Can you relate with any of these feelings? What have you found that helps? Do you feel all alone in these feelings? I’m here to tell you that this is all very common, and you definitely are not alone.

Well meaning loved ones may try to offer help by giving you advice, inviting you out, or suggesting you get involved in other activities. Some may remind you that this is your time to relax and enjoy yourself, to put your feet up, get involved in other interests, or travel. Not bad advice at all, and some of it may help. However, the feelings and the emotions may still be there. Those feelings hinge on depression, or anxiety. Those emotions may be a big component of depression or anxiety.

There may also be issues from childhood, or a traumatic experience earlier in life, that were buried deep, and suppressed as long as you were busy with the kids/family/spouse/career. These could possibly be resurfacing now that you don’t have these other commitments to fill your days with. You may not even be aware. This is a good journaling prompt, or focus for meditation, or some inner child work.

I am a board certified hypnotherapist, and of course I’m going to let you know that hypnotherapy is a great way to help. It’s not just a way to feel a little better, but to gain clarity, self confidence, motivation, and release old wounds or limiting beliefs. (and much more)

However I’m not here to convince you to try hypnotherapy, or even say its the only, or best way to get through these trying times. I’m here to assist you on your healing journey back to wellness. Back to self, inside and out. (The mind-body connection really is so strong)

Other lifestyle factors contribute to feelings of being unmotivated, or lost within your self and your life. You may be thinking it’s too big a task to tackle at this time to think about quitting smoking, sugar or alcohol. To try to get better sleep, eat better, add some exercise and a form of spiritual practice into your life. These things are all related to your mental health and overall well being too. They’re all connected. They are not separate dishes on the menu, but all part of the same soup. The mind-body wellness soup! (I do love analogies, afterall it is soup season – at the time of this writing)

There are more traditional (or I should say conventional) routes you can try, as well as some energy healing, ancient and/or newer types of holistic therapies that all can be very helpful.

Counseling, talk therapy, CBT ( cognitive behavioral therapy) EFT (Emotional freedom Technique), NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programing) , EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)  Reiki, polarity, yoga, Qi-gong, acupuncture, acupressure, sound therapy, art therapy… and many others.

It’s good to look into a few different wellness options that sound interesting and explore on your own. It may take patience and diligence to find what’s best for you. It’s also a great idea to have a few modalities in your tool box to pull out as needed. Nothing is best or right for everyone.

What works well for your friend or neighbor may not be what works well for you.

I offer Hypnotherapy which uses Hypnosis in a therapeutic model, by gently guiding you within yourself to relax the physical body, and quiet the busy conscious mind, to address the subconscious mind. This is done through relaxation techniques, specific wording and sometimes visualization techniques. Very much like a guided meditation, however the focus is deeper. I also offer spiritual guidance to find your own spiritual path from within yourself. (This is not about religion, although it can be, it’s about finding what’s right and true for you from within your own heart and soul)

If you’re interested in working with me, or have any questions, contact me (Pamela@HypnoBreakthrough.com). I always offer free consultations to address any concerns, or questions you may have. A complimentary sample session is offered during the consultation as well, if you’re interested in trying it out before you make any commitments. Find a contact form, and more information here: HypnoBreakthrough

I hope this helps, even knowing that you are not alone, that your feelings are valid, and that there is hope can bring a little relief.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing in this time and space with me.

What Is Spiritual Guidance?

How can a spiritual guide help me?

What comes to mind when you hear the term “spiritual guidance”? Or the words, spiritual, spirit or even soul? Do you feel you have a good understanding, or belief around these terms?

There may be a specific definition, or a belief system – however in reality it’s deeply personal to the individual. What’s within YOU is what matters most.

A guide is a person who shows you the way.

A spiritual guide may even show up in unexpected ways, through a dying loved one, an ill child, or even a vibrant healthy child playing. Even a stranger, an animal or a dream… the possibilities are virtually endless.

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and own common sense” – Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama)

A spiritual guide should help to guide you on your own path, not theirs, or anyone else’s.

(or whatever may be trending in the world of spirituality at the time – possibly due to a celebrity interest or endorsement, cinema or even social media.)

A good spiritual guide will guide you to your own inner wisdom, help you to release any past guilt or shame around beliefs that no longer feel right and true for you, or perhaps never did. A good spiritual guide will offer suggestions or exercises designed to better understand your own truth.

Where are you on your spiritual path right now?

Do you feel you have lost your way, or were never even close to it?

Are you missing something in life, but unsure what it is? Wondering if spirituality or a spiritual practice may help? There is much to explore, and you never know it may be hidden just beneath the surface, or deep within your soul. Your answers may be found in your childhood or ancestry or even past lives.

Do you feel a deep connection to nature and the earth, or maybe something far away from the earth, and sky – not of this earth? Just reading that previous line, notice what comes up for you.

Have you had a transcendent experience, out of body experience, or even a paranormal experience that you wish to find answers about? Perhaps you’re fearful of an experience you’ve had, or even some thoughts that you would like some clarity around.

Nobody can tell you, or do the work for you, but you don’t have to do it alone. There were lots of questions within this article. These are questions to ask yourself, perhaps you’ll find clarity by going through the article, writing out the questions and using them as journal prompts. (I have large hard cover journals with some of my paintings on the cover on Amazon, just put my name “Pamela Topjian” in the Amazon search bar)

If you’re interested in learning more about spiritual guidance for yourself, feel free to send me a message with any questions, or to schedule a free consultation by phone or zoom.

My QHHT Experience

QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) Founded and created by Dolors Cannon (1931-2014)

As you may know, I am a board certified hypnotherapist. Which is not the same as a QHHT practitioner. However both work within the realm of the subconscious mind.

I have both conducted, and had several hypnotherapy sessions by other hypnotherapists over the years. I know that I fall into a deep state fairly easily. I meditate daily, and have for most of my adult life.

This was, however, my first QHHT session. I had a session with a level one intern. I went to their house (or they will come to you) as these sessions are not recommended to do over the phone, or even by any video call.

I laid down with a blanket over me, and they had me visualize certain things to see if I could see them, or get a sense of them in my mind’s eye. Then, asked permission from the subconscious to ask some questions.

I don’t remember from there on out – luckily it was all recorded.

I didn’t remember when I came back, however when talking about some of it afterwards with the practitioner, I could remember some of it. Listening to the recording later that night, I saw it all again clearly.

I felt very comfortable and could see everything so clearly as if I was living it. I went into three past lives, it felt so nice there, and I didn’t want to leave each one as we went on. I  received some life lessons from each one that are helpful for me in this lifetime.

I had felt like I was shaking at some point, but they said I wasn’t when I asked afterwards. I took a nap when I got home. What I didn’t expect was a few days of feeling on a high, and unfocused. I was so glad I hadn’t planned anything else for that same day. I had a hard time doing much of anything that wasn’t just part of my daily activities for a couple of days.

The QHHT sessions are gaining popularity as a past life regression therapy, and before or between life on earth viewing (this may be controversial for some, I realize)  although it’s much more than that, and it may not even be somewhere your subconscious or higher self brings you (or shows you)

Many people have been known to get answers about (or even be healed from) health issues. We tried, we did get some spiritual reasons for my health issues, and my subconscious said that we could heal my health issues, but honestly they are still with me. I do fully believe in these types of spontaneous/miracle healings, but it didn’t happen (yet) for me.

These sessions are meant to be a deeply healing experience in general, and I haven’t heard of anyone that did not gain some sort of benefit from them. You do not have to believe in past lives, other realms or dimensions etc. to have a session, and for it to be beneficial for you.

Have you tried a QHHT session? I would love to hear your experience. If you have any other questions about my own experience, feel free to reach out. You can contact me via the contact form on the home page or send an email Pamela@HypnoBreakthrough.com
